BLACK TIDE Too Young For OZZFEST
August 5, 2007Miami, Florida-based hard rock band BLACK TIDE (formerly RADIO) won't be replacing CIRCUS DIABLO on Ozzfest after all. Turns out the band has been removed from the billing of this year's traveling festival because its members are not old enough to drink Jägermeister, which is sponsoring Ozzfest's second stage.
Commented the group in a posting on its MySpace page: "A few days ago we got the news that Ozzfest would like for us to join the rest of the tour, playing on the second stage. The bags were packed, the RV was ready to go, and we had just eight hours before we were leaving for the tour. Then, Jägermeister decided that since we were underage, they couldn't allow us to play on their stage. We had the support of Live Nation and Ozzfest, but because Jägermeister owns the second stage, we can't play. Sorry that we got anyone’s hopes up and we feel terrible about this whole ordeal."
BLACK TIDE recently completed work on its debut album with producer Johnny K (DISTURBED, MACHINE HEAD, SOIL). The CD is scheduled for release in early 2008 via Interscope Records.
BLACK TIDE is:
Gabriel Garcia (age 14) – Vocals/Guitar
Alex Nunez (age 17) - Guitar
Zachary Sandler (age 18) - Bass
Steven Spence (age 19) - Drums
